I've made it through three of my five nights for this week. Aside from missing the hubs and my littles like crazy, things have been going well. My first nights rotation was pretty early into my second year, and I feel a lot less anxiety this time around. To say I am a lot more comfortable with gynecology would be an understatement. I also have another great team, so that always makes coming into work a little easier.
Now that I have been through all the GYN subspecialities and gotten a TON of practice with transvaginal ultrasound, I feel like I am more efficient coming up with differential diagnoses for consults, more comfortable identifying gynecological emergencies, and the oncology service, though daunting at times, continues to push me out of my comfort zone and is definitely making me a better doctor.
The hardest part of this rotation is that my fam and I are like ships passing in the night, and I miss them so. I've tried to stay connected through the kids, by leaving them a note to find when they get home or treats from the hospital Starbucks...haha
Hope you all are having a good week. We are almost there!
